A useful tool to help foster mindfulness is practicing present moment awareness through the use of our senses - hearing, sight, sound and so on. Select 2 or 3 senses (sight, hearing and, touch for example) for this exercise. To start this practice, try taking a few slow breaths and ask yourself the following questions: 1. What are three things I can see? (ex/ the trees outside my window) 2. What are three things I can hear? ( ex/a car driving by) 3. What are three things I can touch or feel? (ex/ the chair I am sitting on right now) Think of these answers to yourself slowly, one sense at a time. If you try this exercise out, share your thoughts about it in the comments below!
