Resilience - Quiet Your Mind

We humans are resilient. Through thick and thin we, as a species have almost always found a way to get through what life throws at us. We do however need some quiet time to just sink into a moment and rest our minds. Give these options a try the next time you want to quieten your mind:


  1. Soften Your Body - take a few moments to relax your body. Similar to a body scan, take a few moments to bring your attention to the top of your head. Gently

  2. Read Aloud - Try reading a poem or story out loud. Bonus points if it's your favourite. There is something incredibly soothing about hearing or reading a piece of literature out loud. Kids love it so why not give it a try. If you don't like the sound of your voice, have a friend or family member read to you or try an audiobook instead.

  3. Listen to Music - really listen to the lyrics, the instruments and sink deeply into it. It can be challenging at first but rest assured it gets better with practice.
