As we continue to adapt to life indoors, I realized something...we all have the perfect opportunity to become an indoor gardener. Haven't we all wished that we could grow that amazing green garden with flowers and lush plants all around? Our little oasis in the city.

We may not be able to get a green bowling lawn, but we are able to create a little jungle of leafy green goodness.

Let's talk about some of the many benefits of having your own little jungle:

1. Air Purifiers - plants do an excellent job of clearing the air around us. We know they absorb carbon dioxide and emit oxygen...but they do so much more! They also soak up VOCs (volatile organic compounds) which can be emitted by paints, glue, carpets etc.

2. Increase humidity levels - House plants are known to increase the humidity levels in the room they are in. Furnaces and Air Conditioning can create a very dry environment. Try a couple spider plants and boost humidity by almost 10%.

3. You can grow your own first aid station: For centuries we humans have turned to nature to remedy our ailments. Aloe for burns, peppermint for indigestion or lavender for relaxation. Take your pick and create your own garden of healing.

4. Better mental and emotional health: Taking care of a plant can lower anxiety, improve concentration and even reduce the severity of depressive symptoms. Start of small and develop a routine of care. Take the time to be mindful as you care for your plant with love and peace.

Go and live that green life gardener!
