Now is an interesting time to bring FOMO. Where our new normal is rooted in social distancing, we must be experiencing a resurgence of it, however I would like to refute that. I think we are going to slowly blossom into full on JOMO or Joys of Missing out!
Don't agree? That's ok! Let's break down what Joy of Missing out can look like.
There are certain signs which indicate the switch:

1. Your social media page is not as important as there it once was:
Taking time away from your Instagram TikTok and Twitter could possibly mean you are starting to realize the value of your time at home. Sure, its great to see the latest dance moves, the latest trend or even that cool new makeup tutorial, but your brain can only take so much stimulation. Making a decision to step away from the world of social media takes a lot of self confidence and might surprise you!
2. Self Discovery has moved up the priority list:
With social media and other distractions out of the way, you really start to turn inwards. Why not take yourself out on a date and get to know you better? Have you always like the colour blue? Does public speaking actually scare you? What truly excites you in life? Maybe you really should take those Italian lessons! There might be a whole new world within you, waiting to be understood.
3. Self care has not become an escape, but something that brings you genuine joy:
Taking time away from your Instagrams, TikToks and Twitters could possibly mean you are starting to realize the value of your time at home. Sure, its great to see the latest dance moves, trends or even that cool new makeup tutorial, but your brain can only take so much stimulation. Similar to the point of self discovery, really giving yourself the time and space to reset and recharge now brings you both joy as well as the chance to really become invested in the out come of your own well being.
Discovering the joy and gratitude in small moments - the scent of your favourite candle, the way morning light dapples on your table and even the comforting hum of family in back ground. All of these things have always been in our lives, but maybe we were just a bit too busy to recognize them. Let's take the time to rediscover the beauty of the little things around us and within us.
What are some tips that you have to promote the joys of missing out??
